Introduction to my Humble Baker blog
If you are reading this, then you have found my Humble Baker blog.
I’m going to use this blog to document my continued baking journey and natter about baking in my own special way!
Baking, Caking and Eating:
I say ‘continued’ baking journey, I’ve been baking for years (on and off), since I was very young. I particularly love baking cakes and puddings; and more recently experimenting and adapting recipes.
I love eating my creations too! As my expanding belly will tell you. Thank goodness for my gym membership!
Cakes and puddings are, for me, my ultimate treat in life. There’s nothing quite like sinking your teeth into a giant slice of Victoria sponge filled with strawberry jam, a cute Cupcake smothered with buttercream, a dreamy slice of Cheesecake! Or if we’re taking ultimate cake heaven, then my favourite treat (bar none) would have to be a warm, Chocolate Fudge Brownie served with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream!
Don’t get me wrong, I love baking and eating, but some days, I would even go as far as saying that I’m equally as satisfied by just simply talking about cakes and puddings. I don’t actually need to eat them; but it seems an awful shame not to, don’t you think?!
Why Humble Baker?
The ‘humble’ in the title comes from one of my close friend’s thoughts of ‘Me’ as a baker. When trying to think of a name, I heard it and thought that’s actually how I would describe myself… a Humble Baker.
I hope someone (anyone!) will enjoy reading my mutterings and maybe try some of my recipes.
Now, I don’t profess to be the greatest writer! I’m not a great speller, my sentences are over long, and I still don’t know how to use a semicolon correctly. Anywho I enjoy waffling about baking, so for that reason alone I shall go forth and blog!
One polite word of warning to any ‘savouries’ reading this. As I mentioned above – I’m all about the sweet stuff – cakes and puddings/desserts – anyone looking for a cheese and pineapple hedgehog or a sausage roll recipe please leave via the nearest exit. You won’t find anything you’re looking for here I’m afraid! – I don’t do savoury!
And to everyone else still reading. I hope you enjoy my bloglets (or not) depending on your outlook!
